1957
Founded by John Garnett Jr.
Our Founder, John Garnett Jr., a World War II Veteran, created the company to provide commercial refigereation & heating services to Fredericksburg businesses & residences.
1973
Incorporation
John Garnett Jr., lead Garnett Heating & Air through incorporation.
1980
Authorized dealer for GE
In 1980, Garnett Heating & Air became an authorized dealer for General Electric Weathertron Heat Pumps & Air Conditioners.
1982
Trane Company Aquired GE
In 1982, The Trane Company aquired GE’s air conditioning division & began mass marketing residential air conditioning systems.
1987
Moved from Route 3
In 1987 Garnett Heating & Air moved from Route 3 to its current location at 9821 Courthouse Rd., in Spotsylvania.

Garnett Heating & Air is owned and operated by the Garnett Family
Today, Garnett Heating & Air is still family owned and operated by the Garnetts. Garnett is fully insured; Class A mMechnical Contractor, and HVAC Licensed.

The Garnett family continues to own & operate the business that provides heating and air conditioning installation, repair and maintenance services for both residential and commercial customers.
Garnett also provides indoor air quality systems, energy saving digital thermostats, commercial refrigeration repair and maintenance, commercial ice maker repair and maintenance and air duct fabrication services. It is staffed with over thirty highly trained professionals providing design, engineering & installation of heating, air conditioning & ventilation systems for commercial buildings & custom homes. Commercial refrigeration service is also provided for food service operations, restaurants, convenience stores & distribution centers.
Garnett Heating & Air has remained a leader in the area’s heating, air conditioning & refrigeration industry. For more than half a century, many of Fredericksburg’s homes & businesses have relied on Garnett Heating & Air for all their residential and commercial HVAC needs.
